The Doctor of Physical Therapy program hired alumna Christen Johnson as an assistant professor of physical therapy in 2022. She’s worked the previous three years at Providence St. Vincent Rehab Services as an outpatient neurologic physical therapist and served as the site coordinator of clinical education.
Previously, in 2018-19, she completed a physical therapy neurologic residency and treated patients with neurological injury or disease within Harris Health’s System, a public academic healthcare system dedicated to improving the health of those most in need in Houston’s Harris County. Johnson also gained teaching experience in the field as a clinical instructor in George Fox’s DPT program (2019-21) and with the Texas Women’s University DPT program (2019).
She earned a doctor of physical therapy degree from George Fox and holds a bachelor’s degree in exercise science from Abilene Christian University. She lives in Beaverton with her husband, Garrett, and daughter, Emery. She attends Journey Church in Sherwood. Johnson enjoys being outdoors and hiking with friends and family.
