Help for Victims and Survivors of Sexual Assault and Sexual Misconduct
George Fox University is committed to providing a Christ-centered community that fosters a safe place to live, work, and learn for students, faculty, staff and visitors. We respect and value of all people as created in the image of God. As a result, our sexual misconduct policy is designed to hold our community accountable for behaviors and actions that are contrary to the mission, values, and Lifestyle Standards of our community and in violation of federal and/or state law. It is our firm belief that any acts of sexual harassment or sexual violence is unacceptable and will not be tolerated by members of the George Fox community.
On May 6, 2020, the Department of Education released new regulations that broadened the scope of Title IX to include sexual harassment as a form of sex-based discrimination. For the full definition of sexual harassment as defined by Title IX regulations and how the university will proceed with reports of sexual misconduct, click here.
We are committed to providing support, as well as assisting you in all aspects of reporting and responding to the situation. Ultimately, you have a choice in how the process goes and the steps you choose to take. We strongly encourage you to use confidential on-campus or off-campus resources, and/or file a report with the Title IX coordinator or deputy coordinators or with student life/residence life.
It is important to note that George Fox has a "conditional immunity policy" for those who might be concerned about reporting an incident because of a possible policy violation.
