Scholarship Summit

What happens when your calling leads you on the path less traveled, to a destination you can only find through wayfinding and blazing your own trails? That's what it means to be a Bruin. We know that the best views come from the hardest climbs, and we’re not afraid of the challenge.

That’s why we’re so excited for you to join us on the trails of Scholarship Summit, a two-part scholarship experience that guarantees you an additional $1,000 in scholarship if you complete Trail 1 and the chance to earn an additional $1,000 to $3,000 (Early Action applicants, $1,000 to $2,000 for Priority Decision applicants) if you complete Trail 2 .

Apply to George Fox and complete one or both trails to earn up to $4,000 ($3,000 for Priority Decision applicants) on top of your merit scholarship! There are two trails you need to take to get to the top, and we’ll guide you along the way.

Scholarship Summit is only available to incoming fall 2022 students

Trail 1: Earn a guaranteed $1,000 scholarship

Here’s what you’ll need to do:

Complete all four parts of this journey, and you’ll receive an additional $1,000 on top of your merit scholarship, no questions asked.

The campus tour, admissions counselor visit, and community engagement opportunity can be done all in person, all virtually, or a combination of the two!

Not sure what you want to major in yet? That’s normal! Just choose the major you’re leaning most toward at this point, and if you win a scholarship from the summit, you’ll keep your scholarship even if you change majors later on.

Department Summit

Every department will host departmental summits – a chance for you to come to campus or interact virtually with your future department. During these summits, you’ll have the chance to interview with a professor, learn more about your major and department, and get a chance to meet some future classmates!

Sure, there’s an interview, but don't be intimidated; our professors are amazing people who teach because they love engaging with students. This will be a lot of fun!

Departmental summits will take place in person on our beautiful campus or virtually, so you can pick the date, time, and means that works best for you.

Early Action applicants: Each academic department will offer interviews for Early Action applicants on campus (Jan. 28) and virtually (Feb. 2-9). Scholarships will range from $1,000 to $3,000.

Priority Decision applicants: Each academic department will offer interviews for Priority Decision applicants on campus (March 4) and virtually (March 9-16). Scholarships will range from $1,000 to $2,000.

Students can complete both Trail 1 and Trail 2 by attending the on-campus department summit.

Students in Honors Program reading together

Interested in our Honors Program?

If you're interested in being in the Honors Program while you're a student at Fox, participate in the Honors Fellowship Day for a chance to interview for acceptance into the program and a chance to win up to $5,000 in scholarships per year (students may also take part in Trail 1 and Trail 2 of Scholarship Summit for maximum scholarship potential*). To be considered, here's what you need to know:

  • Complete both your George Fox undergrad application and Honors Program supplemental application (including Academic Recommendation) by Nov. 1 for the opportunity to be invited to Fellowship Day, our premier honors scholarship event.

Honors Program admissions decisions and scholarship awards will be determined after completing an applicant interview with one of our program faculty.

*Honors Program students may win a maximum total award of $6,000 in addition to their merit scholarship. This includes Fellowship Day and Scholarship Summit Trail 1 & Trail 2 awards from the university and is not guaranteed.

Yes, all students must complete a George Fox admissions application and be admitted for the fall semester in order to be eligible to participate.

Not necessarily. If you’d like to complete Trail 1 and Trail 2 during one visit, you are more than welcome to do that!

No! We offer each component of Scholarship Summit in person and virtually, so you can choose to complete it all in person, all online, or a combination of two.

There is no catch.

No sweat! If you’ve already attended an admissions office coordinated campus tour or met with an admissions counselor (post January 1, 2021), you don’t need to do that again! You’ll just want to sign up for a community engagement opportunity and you’ll be good to go!

We bet you have some sort of idea of what you’d like to major in - even if it’s between a couple of options. We encourage you to pick the one you’re leaning towards most and set off on your Summit journey!

Great question! You can look at all of the different opportunities to engage with different parts of our campus and that count towards trail one. Some examples include chatting with a professor, meeting with a current student, or attending one of our financial aid sessions.

Once you are admitted to the university, you’ll receive an official invitation via email and also in your acceptance packet! Be on the lookout for both!

Once you’re admitted and have received your invitation to Scholarship Summit, you can start signing up for Trail 1 and Trail 2 experiences! Trail 1 activities are found on this page. Trail 2 registration will be emailed to those that qualify.

Once you’re admitted to the university, you’ll receive checklist reminder emails to let you know what you're missing and what you've completed!
