Mariah LeFeber, PhD, LPC, BC-DMT

I joined the Graduate School of Counseling as an associate professor of counseling in 2023. An educator, dance/movement therapist and licensed professional counselor, I worked the previous 13 years in the School of Education at the University of Wisconsin in Madison, Wisconsin, the last eight years as an outreach specialist and my first five years as an associate lecturer.

Concurrently, I also worked as an associate professor of counseling at Multnomah University in Portland for six years, and in the year prior to joining George Fox I served as the academic team lead for that institution’s Master of Arts in Counseling program.

I also gained teaching experience doing course development and instruction for the American Dance Therapy Association for seven years. In clinical practice, I've worked since 2017 as a clinical supervisor in the state of Oregon, specializing in individual and group supervision for dance/movement therapists, associate-level professional counselors, and masters-level graduate students.

I earned a PhD in leadership with a specialization in counselor education and supervision from the University of the Cumberlands in Williamsburg, Kentucky, in 2022. I also hold a master’s degree in dance/movement therapy and counseling from Columbia College Chicago (2007) and a bachelor’s degree in dance and psychology from the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities (2004).

I live in Clackamas with my husband Paul and daughters Adah and Junia, and attend a small church in Milwaukie. I enjoy traveling with my family and dancing in my free time, especially teaching a weekly inclusive dance class at Classical Ballet Academy in Portland.
