Admissions

COVID-19 and Admissions at George Fox

The George Fox admissions office is taking steps to protect the health of our campus community and prospective students. In accordance with the Oregon governor’s "Stay Home, Save Lives" campaign, admissions counselors are working remotely. While we cannot offer in-person visits for now, admissions counselors are still available by email, phone or video if you have any questions or need assistance.

We are accepting applications for the Spring 2021 semester (classes begin January 2021). Classes may be offered virtually until in-person classes can safely resume.

If you are applying, please ask your previous school(s) to send official transcripts electronically directly to George Fox, rather than sending them by mail.

For additional information, visit the university's main COVID-19 response page.

We look forward to connecting with you!

Graduate: Counseling Degree & Certificate Program

All application items must be received by the application deadline. Applicants meeting initial program criteria are invited to an invitation-only group interview event. Applicants living outside of Washington and Oregon may qualify for a distance group interview event depending on availability*. The Admissions Committee will consider each application item and the group interview as part of the admissions decision. If you’re invited to the group interview, expect to take part in the following activities:

  • Group discussion of a movie you will watch ahead of time
  • Group discussion of a personal object you will bring from home
  • Role play activity
  • Essay on a topic to be provided at the interview event
  • Brief one-on-one interview with a professor

*Fall 2020 admissions interviews will be facilitated in distance group interview format in June 2020 for all applicants invited to interview, regardless of residency. Please contact your admissions counselor for more information.

Post-Graduate: Certificate in Trauma Response Services

Applications for the upcoming semester will be reviewed until the application deadline passes for that semester. The Trauma Response Institute typically reviews complete applications within two to three weeks of submission and completion. Applications will be accepted beyond deadlines on a space-available basis. Contact your admissions counselor for more information.

After Acceptance

Graduate: Counseling Degree & Certificate Program

If you are admitted to the Graduate School of Counseling, you are required to submit a non-refundable $200 enrollment deposit by the date provided by your admissions counselor. This deposit guarantees your place in the program and typically covers the graduation fee applied to your student account in the last semester of your degree program.

Please review the Student Accounts website related to the enrollment deposit. If you will be requesting transfer credit, then you need to submit syllabi for relevant courses to the Graduate School of Counseling after admission.

Post-Graduate: Certificate in Trauma Response Services

If you are admitted to the Trauma Response Institute (TRI) post-graduate program you will be connected to the TRI office for advising and class registration information. The TRI office will help you set up an academic advising appointment with Dr. Anna Berardi to begin expiring your field experience and research interests.
