FAQ

Scholarship checks should be mailed to the following address:

Financial Aid Office
George Fox University
414 N. Meridian St. #6068
Newberg, OR 97132

Please instruct the scholarship committees to include your name and George Fox University ID number on the check.

If the check is made payable to the university:

  • Bring it to the financial aid office
  • If the check is made co-payable to you and the university, then endorse the check and submit it to the financial aid office.

If the check is made payable to you only, you have two options:

  • Preferred: Please come to the financial aid office to endorse the check and we will apply it to your account, OR
  • Make a payment on your student account. Then, it is your responsibility to report this resource to us and to apply any funds necessary to your university student account. Please email finaid@georgefox.edu to report that to us.

To receive a copy of an invoice, please contact the student accounts office at studentaccounts@georgefox.edu.

If your scholarship requires proof of enrollment, you can request a proof of enrollment form from our registrar’s office.

If the scholarship requires a needs analysis or your current financial aid package, you can email the form to scholarships@georgefox.edu

A blank W-9 form can be found from our finance office. Once you complete your section, return the form to Finance at accountspayable@georgefox.edu and request they complete their portion.

Our goal is to process checks within 24 to 48 hours after receiving them; it may take up to a week during high-volume periods.

George Fox’s policy is that half the scholarship be applied in the fall term and half in the spring term, unless the scholarship specifies otherwise.

External scholarships will show as offered on your financial aid package in my.georgefox.edu until the check is received. Once it is received, the aid package will be updated to show the external scholarship as accepted.

All external scholarships are deferred until Sept. 15. If you expect the check to arrive after that date, you will need to submit a scholarship deferral form through our student accounts office.
