Thursday and Friday, Oct. 24-25

Bruin Preview

This is an offering for high school juniors and seniors who have a sibling attending George Fox. It offers the most in terms of showing you what makes Fox such a special place. Mingle with faculty, coaches and current students, attend a class of your choice and learn about our majors.

You'll hear about our financial aid and admissions processes, meet with your admissions counselor, and hear about opportunities outside the classroom. Those wishing to register a high school student for Bruin Preview will have the $25 Bruin Preview event fee waived if registered through the Family Weekend registration.

Parent Prayer

Take a moment to gather together for a time of parent prayer while students are finishing classes for the day. The university's pastoral staff will lead this time of guided prayer for students, our community and beyond.

Attend Academic Classes

Our faculty have opened up their classrooms for families to visit and see what their students’ education really looks like. Enjoy hearing dynamic lectures and explore what makes our school one of the best in Christian higher education.

Career Preparation Workshop

Meet with Wendy Flint, director of the IDEA Center, and discover how coaches assist your students with internships, resume review, job search, and interviewing. Wendy will share current market trends and what recruiters are looking for in student candidates. Help your students write a brand statement for grad school or job applications and answer the question "Why LinkedIn?"

Enjoy the work of our music students as they present a fall showcase. This program features vocal and instrumental ensembles combined in a night of varied music literature.

Theatre Presentation: A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder

1907. London. On the day of his mother’s funeral, the impoverished Monty Navarro discovers that he is eighth in line to become the Earl of Highhurst. When Monty witnesses the seventh-in-line “accidentally” fall to his death, Monty decides the earldom may not be out of reach after all. Can Monty knock off his unsuspecting relatives without being caught and become the next Earl of Highhurst? Join us for a hilarious, knock‘em dead, evening of murder and romance filled with high jinks and ghoulish surprises.

Hadlock Center Open Gym

Get that morning workout in with your student in the new Hadlock Student Center, which offers 4,200 square feet of space filled with cardiovascular and strength training equipment. The gyms will be open for a little basketball, a walk on the indoor track, or to observe campus and the canyon while working out on the weight and cardio equipment.

Legacy Family Reception

Come on by the advancement office to meet Sara Reamy, our new director of alumni relations. Legacy students have had a parent or grandparent attend George Fox. We would love to bless you with some free George Fox gear and reminisce about the times you and your student have had here at Fox. Coffee and doughnuts will be provided!

Olive Oil Tour and Tasting at Red Ridge Farms

Take a drive through beautiful Yamhill County to Red Ridge Farms in Dayton, Oregon. Located just 15 minutes from Newberg, the farm includes a tour that ends with olive oil tasting in the shop. Families are welcome to take a picnic lunch and enjoy the gardens or the farm's new one-mile nature trail (this event has a 20-person limit).

Tailgate Party

Bring your own food or purchase a meal from the food truck vendors at the tailgate party before the football game. We will enjoy True Blue spirit as we gather together before cheering for Bruins in Stoffer Stadium. Don’t miss a chance to meet Pennington Bear and see a pregame performance from our cheerleaders, drumline, and dance team!

The Bruin Community Pantry will also be collecting donations of nonperishable foods during the tailgate party.

Family Weekend Dinner

Warm up after the game and join us for a meal with your family and students in our beautiful Canyon Commons dining hall overlooking the canyon. Bon Appetit will have a delicious Pacific Northwest meal ready. Enjoy the fall bluegrass music by an alumni duo before heading out for an evening of entertainment.

Student Activities Family Game Night

Students and families join together and bring your competitive spirit! Student Activities invites families to come play games with the student body in Canyon Commons 102-103. There will be games for everyone to enjoy, from card to board games and a chance to win prizes in our minute-to-win-it competitions. Snacks will be provided.

This is a great opportunity for your student to show you where they have been attending or to try out a new church in the area together. There is no chapel service offered on campus at this time.
