Program Overview
Handong Global University (HGU) offers a “distinctive Christian, high-caliber” academic education. Their mission: “Aiming to pursue academic excellence and whole-person education based on the Christian faith to train global leaders who will change the world.”
HGU recently received a Grade A (highest level) in the University Structure Reform Evaluation by the Ministry of Education Republic of Korea, and is accredited by the International Education Quality Assurance System. The institution is also one of 10 United Nations Academic Impact (UNAI) Global Hubs in the world and is designated as a UN Depository Library.
Course Content
HGU offers many courses that are taught in English (about 40 percent of their courses are taught in English). Visit the Handong website for a complete list of these courses. The institution is particularly strong in the fields of management, economics, computer science and engineering.
Excursions
The program includes several excursions, including trips that might include the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ), Seoul City, Busan city, Rural, and a traditional tour.
Housing
HGU is a residential campus organized into colleges according to the dorms. You will stay in one of HGU’s dormitories.
Program Fees & Eligibility
You pay your regular George Fox tuition and room and board and continue to receive all of your financial aid. Due to the high cost of some programs, an additional fee may be charged. You are responsible for round-trip airfare. There also may be an additional charge for a visa. The fee does include emergency travel insurance.
To apply, you must be a full-time undergraduate student with junior or senior status, holding a cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher.
