Center for Study Abroad Ambassadors

Student ambassadors are George Fox study abroad alumni. Through events hosted by the Center for Study Abroad, ambassadors share their experiences abroad with their peers while promoting awareness of the numerous international opportunities on campus.

If you are considering studying abroad, you are welcome to contact one of our ambassadors to learn more about our programs.

Hello! ,My name is Nat and I studied abroad in Belfast, N. Ireland in the spring of 2024. As someone who had ever flown, let alone left the country before, I was terrified, but it was one of the best decisions of my life. The places I got to see and the people I had the privilege of meeting will stay with me forever, and I definitely plan on going back someday! If you have any interest in exploring the Emerald Isles, I would love to buy you coffee and chat!!

Hi!! My name is Sophie Hare, and I studied abroad in Inzai, Japan! I explored so many people's beautiful places, ate amazing food, met equally amazing people, and learned so much about not just Japan but myself and my faith. Study abroad is a great opportunity to experience a culture more deeply and thoughtfully than just a week’s vacation. The friends and memories you make will last you a lifetime!

I had the incredible opportunity to study abroad twice, first in Lithuania, and later through a Juniors Abroad trip to Thailand and Cambodia. Each experience opened my eyes in ways I never expected: walking the streets of small-town Klaipeda, learning local traditions, and connecting with students from all over the world made me see my own culture differently. Traveling through Southeast Asia, I gained a deeper appreciation for resilience, history, and community. Both journeys pushed me outside my comfort zone, challenged how I see the world, and ultimately helped me grow into a more confident, curious, and compassionate person. If you’ve ever thought about studying abroad (even just a little), I can’t encourage you enough to take the leap. Don't miss this opportunity of assistance to see the world. It’s not just about travel, it’s about transformation.
