Day 1 | Leave PDX Arrive Athens Int’l Airport, Athens, Greece Transfer to accommodation. Evening welcome dinner. |
Day 2 | Visit Sites: Parthenon and Ancient Agora and Mars Hill. Walking tour and shops in The Plaka Market. Evening - Sunset visit to Cape Sounio and dinner in ______. |
Day 3 | Visit the Museum of Democracy. Evening flight to Palermo, Sicily. |
Day 4 | Arrive in Palermo. Check into accommodation. Tour Palermo's historic sites: Palermo Cathedral, Palatine Chapel, Anti-Mafia Documentation Center |
Day 5 | Day trip to Monreale Cathedral and Cefalù |
Day 6 | Visit the Valley of the Temples in Agrigento, travel to Syracuse, and visit Cathedral. Then Island of Ortigia for dinner at Sunset. |
Day 7 | Travel to Catania. Ursino Castle, Sicilian cooking class. |
Day 8 | Depart from Catania via Athens, to Chania, Crete, Greece |
Day 9 | Arrive in Chania. Transfer to accommodation. Explore Chania's Old Town and Venetian Harbor |
Day 10 | Visit Spinalonga Island, former leper colony |
Day 11 | Hike the Samaria Gorge. |
Day 12 | Day trip to Elafonissi Beach (Pink Beach). |
Day 13 | Depart from Chania to Larnaca, Cyprus. Arrive in Larnaca. Visit Cathedral of St. Lazarus and St. Barnabus. |
Day 14 | Transfer to Nicosia. Explore Nicosia's divided city, visit the Green Line and Ledra Street. |
Day 15 | Visit the ghost town of Varosha near Famagusta. Dinner and evening boat cruise on Coral Bay. |
Day 16 | Day trip to North Cyprus (Turkish Side of the Republic) |
Day 17 | Excursion to the Troodos Mountains/villages – Golden Donkey Farm, Lace Museum and local artisanal cheese makers. |
Day 18 | Depart Larnaca, to PDX, via Athens. |
