William Anderson

Name: William Anderson

High School: North Medford High School (Medford, Oregon)

Sport(s): Swimming

Position(s): Breaststroke and IM

Height / Weight: 6' 4"

High School Highlights:
Named team’s outstanding freshman in 2015-16, it’s outstanding sophomore in 2016-17 and outstanding junior in 2017-18; served as North Medford and Superior Stingrays’ team captain in 2018-19; was an OSAA Class 6A state qualifier his senior year

Why I chose George Fox:
George Fox has a good combination of athletics and academics with good facilities and coaches. The choice was obvious.

High School: Forest Grove High School (Forest Grove, Oregon)

Position(s): Middle distances and IM

Height / Weight: 5' 10"/145 lbs.

High School Highlights:
Competed at varsity level all four years of high school; earned second-team all-league honors (Class 6A Pacific Conference) three years and was a second-team all-league relay swimmer two years

I love the environment and the new swim program.

Position(s): 50 and 100 freestyle

High School Highlights:
Served as team captain and was awarded team’s Most Dedicated Athlete Award as a senior, when he helped team win a state title at Class 5A level; was a four-time district champion (no one else had four wins there); at state, he won and scored second individually and contributed to first- and third-place relay teams

Why I chose George Fox:
I love the atmosphere, campus, the opportunity to compete in swimming, and the emphasis on faith.

Name: Trey Fincher

Position(s): Freestyle, butterfly and backstroke

High School Highlights:
Served as team captain in 2018 and 2019; member of 200 freestyle relay team that won Class 6A state title and set a state record his senior year; was also second in 400 free relay, sixth in 50 free, and seventh in 100 free at state his senior season; was a four-time district champion (Three Rivers League, 2016-18; Pacific Conference, 2019); voted the Pacific Conference Male Swimmer of the Year in 2018; qualified for Futures event

Holds club’s 50 freestyle, 50 breaststroke and 100 breaststroke records; has posted time of 21.99 seconds in 50 free, 49.11 in 100 free, 1:01.25 in 100 breast, and 27.75 in 50 breast

Why I chose George Fox:
I chose Fox because they have a great new swim team and a great engineering program, and I want to attend college where I can pursue all my dreams and not give any up.

Name: Shawna Ashley Ingram

High School Highlights:
Named Most Inspirational on team her senior season; dropped 26 seconds in her 100 butterfly time and 18 seconds off her 200 individual medley time her senior year

Why I chose George Fox:
I chose George Fox because of the small, “Be Known” community ideology at the school and also for what the swim team emanates. I feel as if this will be the best place for me to succeed.

High School Highlights:
Helped team win a state championship his senior season (Class 2A level); recorded a 100-yard breaststroke time of 1 minute, 4.67 seconds and a 200 IM time of 2:17.37 his senior year

Why I chose George Fox:
I chose George Fox because of the amazing biology department and its opportunities for undergraduates. It gives me a chance to learn and compete in a sport I love.

Name: Adin Williams

High School: Gladstone High School (Happy Valley, Oregon)

Sport(s): Swimming

Position(s): Freestyle and butterfly

Height / Weight: 105 lbs.

High School Highlights:
Named team’s Most Valuable Swimmer in 2018-19; earned two state titles in para 50 and para 100, setting state records in both; earned three gold medals at U.S. Paralympics Swimming National Championships; earned one gold and one silver at International Wheelchair and Amputee Sports Youth World Games

Why I chose George Fox:
From the first time I walked onto the campus, I noticed it was a very friendly environment and everyone was very welcoming. I really liked Coach Turner from the first moment I met her. I’m really excited to join this team.
