High School Highlights:
Earned varsity letters all four years of high school cross country and his sophomore, junior and senior seasons in track; ran a time of 16 minutes, 41 seconds in 5,000 his senior cross country season; placed ninth in district (Class 6A Pacific Conference) his senior year of cross country; has posted times this year of 9:36.29 in the 3,000, 4:33.2 in the 1,500, and 2:17.47 in the 800; voted Most Improved Male Cross Country Runner his sophomore season

Why I chose George Fox:
It offers so many things that are important to me for a college to have. First off, George Fox is Christian-based, which I really like. Also, they have a very good engineering program, which I really like because I am planning on becoming a mechanical engineer. George Fox is very close to home as well. Finally, I chose George Fox because they have a cross country team that I will be able to join and run with.

Why I chose George Fox:
I had attended several youth camps at George Fox when I was younger and a close friend is a recent graduate, so I had heard lots of good things about George fox and had even gotten to experience it a little myself. After doing a couple of visits I knew that George Fox would provide a quality education and give me opportunities to deepen my relationship with Christ. After meeting my potential teammates and peers, as well as many of my professors and coaches, I was sure that George Fox was the right place for me.

High School Highlights:
Helped boys team get second out of nine in varsity cross country meet his senior year, qualifying for state; was member of team that took eighth out of 84 teams in open section of the NXR Northwest Regional Championship meet in Boise, Idaho; after a difficult iron-deficiency setback at the beginning of the season, he was able to muster a 5K PR at the state meet (16 minutes, 54 seconds), where only 16 out of the 162 runners did so on the difficult course; as a junior ran PRs of 4:36 in the 1,600 meters and 2:05 in the 800.

I want to keep Christ as the focal point of my life, and the thought of being able to surround myself with others who have the same goal as I do, both in the classroom and in competitive sports, is a dream that I know I can make a reality here at George Fox!

Why I chose George Fox:
There are multiple reasons that I chose George Fox. First of all, the incredible Christ-centered campus was a huge draw to me. From the second I stepped on campus, I felt welcomed. The basketball team has been extremely encouraging, and I have had wonderful conversations and visits with the entire staff as well as all the players. I have also been blessed by the conversations I have had with some of the track athletes and coaches. Both teams have made me feel welcomed and more excited for this new journey. Academically, Fox has one of the best nursing programs in the state, and with my desire to pursue nursing, I knew Fox was a perfect fit for me. In the end it was an easy choice.
