Alumni Plaza

Location

The Alumni Plaza, constructed and dedicated in the fall of 2018, is a space dedicated to honoring the legacy of the university and the impact of its alumni. It's a rallying point for past, current and future Bruins located between the two venues alumni visit most often: Bauman Auditorium for performing arts productions and Stoffer Family Stadium for athletic events

The centerpiece of the 3,400-square-foot plaza is “Mama Bear” – a 10-foot-tall, 800-pound bronze bear statue created by Ryan Wilhite, son of alumni Steve and Nancy Wilhite. The female bear gazes to her right – the traditional place of honor – to symbolize that the plaza is a place of honor to be shared by all Bruins.
