I am excited to join the George Fox community after moving back to the Northwest from Chicago to be closer to family. While Chicago was an exciting city filled with beautiful architecture and history, I truly missed the mountains and expansive forests of the West Coast.

What do you do at Fox?

I am a research and instruction librarian at the University Library. Much of my job is centered around connecting students and faculty to the resources they need. I serve as the liaison for the Accelerated Online Degree (AOD), College of Business, Computer Science, Engineering, Math & Data Analytics, and Social Work.

Education & Experience

MLIS, Library & Information Science, Dominican University
MDiv, Theological Studies, Multnomah University
BA, Adv. Concentration in Biblical Studies, Multnomah University

Over the last few years, I have worked as Sacred Spaces Fellow for Dominican University. I utilized various photography and recording methods to help faith communities preserve their stories. The goal was to create a digital record of their heritage and their material space.

Expertise & Research Interests

In my Master’s of Divinity and bachelor’s my areas of focus were biblical interpretation and Old Testament biblical theology. This has continued into my current research interests of hermeneutics and inter/intratextuality. As a librarian I am particularly interested in resource reliability and how the environment (both physical and digital) impacts learning. I am also starting to explore how the advent of AI and LLMs will shape education and discipleship.

What is something you'd like to do in the future?

I would like to publish a fiction book (or more than one) from a world I have been developing since high school. And I would love to go to Trinity College in Dublin and see the Book of Kells in person.

Beyond the Library

Outside my work as a librarian my favorite pastimes are playing boardgames with friends, holing up on a coffee shop to write fiction, or reading books on hermeneutics, intertextuality, and biblical theology.
