Admission Requirements

For students seeking admission to the Master of Arts in Special Education program, requirements are as follows:

Application Deadlines

April 15
for summer start
Aug. 1
for fall start
Nov. 15
for spring start

How to Apply

  1. Apply Online

    Create an account with a username and password and complete the Master of Arts in Special Education application online. It's free to apply. The online application includes the following:

    • Reference forms
    • Resumé
    • Short essay

    Note: Applications can be saved to be completed at a later time. Log in early to send reference forms and view the essay prompt.

  2. Submit a copy of your current teaching or administrative license (both if applicable) to admissions@georgefox.edu. pplicants desiring the Master of Arts in Special Education degree who do not have a teaching license should submit a letter of explanation as to how the degree fits with their professional goals.

  3. Request an official transcript from every regionally accredited college or university where you completed even a single course. Electronic transcripts are preferred for speed and accuracy. They must be sent directly from the institution to admissions@georgefox.edu. If an electronic option is not available, unopened official transcripts can be sent via mail to:

Once Your Application is Complete

  1. Interview/Assessment The admissions committee will review your application file once all materials are submitted. Applicants meeting initial program criteria will be invited to an interview/assessment.
  2. Enrollment Deposit Upon admission you are required to submit a $200 enrollment deposit by the date provided to you in your admit letter.
