So you’ve finally made it to your freshman year of college, everything is equal parts new, exciting and overwhelming. Here’s what I’ve learned over the past three years.
Academics
When I came to college, I didn’t anticipate the life-changing opportunity I would experience in the George Fox Honors Program. Among the many offerings at Fox, honors stands out for its unique alternative to the standard curriculum. The Socratic seminars, book selection, and personal engagement with peers and professors are only a few of the reasons I love being part of this community.
Student Life
When you start college, you hold all of these expectations. You might think you don’t, but you do. You have expectations for your classes, your major, your professors, your friends and your life. I can’t say exactly where these expectations come from. If I had to guess, I’d say they come from a little Mason jar inside your heart, where you’ve come to store all the ideas, plans and dreams you’ve developed over the years. By the time you first set foot on campus, the Mason jar is overflowing with excitement.
