Course Reserves

The library’s reserves system allows students to access specific class materials (either from the library collections or provided by the instructor) for a short time. Instructors set the length of time materials can be borrowed, which can vary from two hours to three days.

All reserve materials are kept at the front desk of the Murdock Library for checkout. Some reserve materials may not leave the library building.

The library also keeps several works on permanent reserve, including copies of the most common style manuals and professional test prep books (NCLEX, ORELA, etc.).

For Students

Your instructor will likely let you know if there are course reserve materials for you at the library, but you can also search for items on reserve in Primo.

For Faculty

To place items on reserve for your course or program, please use the Reserves Request form.

Course instructors may place books, DVDs, CDs, or other media on reserve for their students. Items may come from the George Fox University library collections or may be brought in from your personal collections. If bringing your personal materials, please be sure to fill out the Reserves Request form before bringing materials to the library Front Desk.

Please allow a minimum of 48 hours for processing of reserves (longer at the beginning of the semester).
